It’s quite fascinating to observe that despite the emergence of locally produced films and television series featuring homegrown talent, there’s a noticeable disparity in what ultimately makes it to our screens, and largely to our knowledge. One plausible explanation for this phenomenon, I would say, could be attributed to the exponential growth of the film industry, resulting in a variety of cinematic offerings that sometimes cannot be categorised as having ‘mainstream appeal’.
