Chancellor Rachel Reeves will deliver her Spring Statement this week and tax thresholds have been placed firmly on the agenda, while large changes to pension are unlikely to appear. Some experts predicted the government could continue to tax by ‘stealth’ by extending the freeze on income tax thresholds beyond 2028. Back in October, Reeves said she would end the freeze of the thresholds - introduced by the previous Conservative government - and raise them in line with inflation from 2028.
