One year after making one of the worst trades of his tenure, former Jets GM Joe Douglas is returning to the team that he made the deal with. Joe Douglas has reportedly agreed to return to the Philadelphia Eagles as a senior scouting executive under GM Howie Roseman. Roseman was Douglas’ boss from 2016-2019 when Douglas was the Eagles vice president of player personnel, until he was hired to lead the Jets.

The New York Jets’ official 2025 schedule is here and now, we have the road map to the regular season. So, naturally, that means it's time to make some way-too-early predictions regarding the entire 17-game schedule. For context starting out, I think all of the results I posted below are under the assumption that the Jets remain relatively healthy. That doesn’t mean players missing games here and there, but in general avoiding any major injuries.

The New York Jets have their quarterback for 2025, and it’s one they passed on in 2021. The Jets have signed Justin Fields to a two-year deal worth $40 million and $30 million guaranteed. AtoZ Sports’ Pittsburgh Steelers Writer Rob Gregson had this to say about Fields joining the Jets. Fields is unlikely to miraculously turn into a franchise quarterback heading into his fifth NFL season. But he’s the perfect bridge quarterback with starting capabilities.

After hearing from new general manager Darren Mougey and Glenn last week at the 2025 NFL Combine, it's clear this team is looking to reshape the Jets off a disastrous 2024 season.
