Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani faced hitters in live batting practice Sunday afternoon for the first time since having elbow surgery in September 2023. Ohtani has been building up slowly these last few weeks and had thrown off a mound in the bullpen several times. Sunday was his first time facing hitters. It is a significant milestone in his rehab.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman exited Friday afternoon's game against the Baltimore Orioles and was placed on the injured list on Saturday with what manager Alex Cora described as a "significant" right quad injury -- similar to the one that cost him more than two months in 2021. Another Boston Red Sox infielder has gone down with an injury. Star third baseman Alex Bregman exited Friday afternoon's game against the Baltimore Orioles (GameTracker) with an apparent left leg injury. Bregman roped a single to left field in the fifth inning, rounded first base, then immediately called for the trainer and exited the game with a slight limp. The Red Sox have not yet provided an update on Bregman.

Two months into 2025, things are going quite well for the Juan Soto-less New York Yankees. The Yankees are 30-19 and riding a four-game winning streak, and they have a five-game lead in the AL East. New York's plus-95 run differential is the best in baseball by 12 runs. Their Plan B pivot after Soto left is a major reason why (Cody Bellinger, Max Fried, Paul Goldschmidt, etc.).

Juan Soto should wait until Igor Shesterkin sets the market to sign.

Another season in the books. I will now go to sleep and set my alarm for Thanksgiving. https://t.co/FFtR5llNgI
