This paper provides a robust assessment of the properties and performance of a tool to classify pilonidal disease based on anatomy and behaviour. It demonstrates face validity and interrater reliability. The tool corresponds with baseline patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) but not follow-up PROMs. INTRODUCTION Classification tools and systems provide surgeons with a framework within which they can describe disease.
