The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel on Thursday agreed to multiple rule modifications and updates ahead of the 2025 college football season, including changes related to signaling for a fair catch, having too many players on the field, deceptive pre-snap tactics on the line of scrimmage and injuries. Under a newly approved rule, a team will be charged a timeout if medical personnel have to come onto the field to check on a player after the official spots the ball for the next play.

On Tuesday night, West Virginia baseball stole home against a right-handed pitcher in the top of the ninth inning to win a road game. On Thursday, the Mountaineers snagged a Big 12 matchup when the final pitch hit the opposing batter and rolled to the backstop as a runner crossed the plate and celebrated the game-tying run while WVU cheered a 12th straight win. By now you should know this is can't-miss stuff.

The Mountaineers are doing what their fans expect them to do. West Virginia baseball returned to the top 25 polls this week and is back home tonight following four in a row on the road when a three-game Big 12 series begins against Cincinnati at Ken Kendrick Family Stadium. The Mountaineers lost the final two games of last season's three-game road series against the Bearcats and then lost their next road game two weekends later in the opener of a three-game series against TCU.

From Tony Bennett's preseason retirement at Virginia to Buzz Williams' move from Texas A&M to Maryland, there were 14 head coaching changes at major-conference programs. West Virginia was in that group and is the only one to do it in each of the last two seasons. In fact, there's been a coaching change the past three years and four different head coaches in the past four years. Obviously, no one else has done that. It's been a dizzying descent.
