For NAZ Elite head coach Jack Mullaney, the night of The TEN in California was "very special."That night during the event put on by Sound Running on March 29, NAZ Elite's Adrian Wildschutt, an Olympian for South Africa, became the 19th man in history to run under 27 minutes three times at the 10,000-meter distance, according to Mullaney. He finished third overall with a time of 26:51.27. He ran under 27 minutes at The TEN in 2024, as well as at the Olympic Games.

NAZ Elite is sending two of its athletes to the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships, which are set to take place this year in Staten Island, New York. Abby Nichols and Olin Hacker will race Saturday in the 3,000-meters, with the goal of winning a title or at least getting a runner-up finish, which would earn them a spot on the country's world indoor team. Both will have to take on a stout field in their respective races on a big stage in New York.

NAZ Elite's Ahmed Muhumed is a great racer. Turns out he's a pretty good race organizer as well. Not long after winning the Philadelphia Half Marathon with a time of 1:03:15 for his debut at the distance, Muhumed watched the inaugural Somali Youth Running Event on Dec. 15, 2024, in Jigjiga, Ethiopia. “It’s a way of giving back," Muhumed said of why he organized the race and found the sponsors to put it on.

NAZ Elite reduced its roster from 20 athletes to 11 as it entered the new year and new Olympic cycle, cutting ties with several longtime members as its major shoe sponsor, HOKA, appears to be heading in new directions. Several former athletes expressed disappointment in how HOKA handled the end of 2024 and its decision not to resign many athletes who had become fixtures with the team over time. NAZ Elite currently holds seven men and four women on the roster.

NAZ Elite has taken down the bio info on athlete Cruz Culpepper, who joined the team in January of 2023 and ran just three races for the team before his dad, Alan Culpepper, parted ways with the team as its head coach nearly a year ago.
