    A sailor sparked a rescue alert after falling overboard from a boat in a Sutherland harbour last night. The man was aboard a vessel in Kinlochbervie when he entered the water in stormy conditions. The alarm was raised at around 9.44pm last night (Monday). A spokesperson for the coastguard said: “HM Coastguard received reports of a person overboard from a vessel at Kinlochbervie Harbour. “Kinlochbervie Coastguard Rescue Team were sent, and the casualty self-recovered to a nearby pier.

    A woman was rescued from the UK’s most northerly Munro after falling and suffering various injuries. The woman was on 3041 feet high Ben Hope in Sutherland when she slipped. The alarm was raised around 5pm on Sunday and dozen members of Assynt Mountain Rescue Team were scrambled. “She had a suspected broken wrist and other injuries,” said team leader Ben Dyson. “After administering pain relief and splinting the affected limb, the casualty was stretchered off the hill to a waiting ambulance.

    A £329,000 Ferrari supercar had to call out a mobile tyre service after getting a flat on the North Coast 500 road trip. Martin Gordon of Inverness Mobile Tyre Fitting received the callout to “a car” on Monday just outside Ullapool. But to his surprise there was the gleaming red Ferrari 296 GTB. “It’s not the first supercar or Ferrari I have had to deal with but it was the first Ferrari this year,” he said. Unfortunately there was no Hex key to remove the wheel.
