    ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – An era came to end today with the passing of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, leader of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation. He passed this morning of Friday, February 14, 2025, at his residence in Lekki, Lagos State. He was aged 96. The family confirmed his death in a statement on Friday signed by Mrs. Ayotunde Atteh (nee Ayo-Adebanjo), Mrs. Adeola Azeez (nee Ayo-Adebanjo), and Mr. Obafemi Ayo Adebanjo.

Nwosu was a lecturer at the Political Science department of the University of Nigeria when General Ibrahim Babangida called him up in 1989 for the position following the resignation of his predecessor, Prof Eme Awa from the same position.
