The No. 9 UCLA softball team defeated No. 16 Oregon in its first game of the Women's College World Series by a score of 4-2 by way of a walk-off homer from Bruins outfielder Jessica Clements. It was a slow start for both teams, but resulted in an exciting final inning to send Oregon into the next round with its first loss in a double-elimination tournament and UCLA getting a day of rest before its next game on Saturday.
