The Ozark County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a woman earlier this year for child abuse. According to reports, Amy Dunn-Trout shot two young children with a BB gun as a form of punishment, leaving marks on their bodies. Trout was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, abuse of a child, armed criminal action, second-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.

61-year-old Steven Lyn Ellison of Gamaliel is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He is free after posting a $5,000 bond.

The Prison announced the passing of 23-year-old John Freeman. Freeman died at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston early Tuesday morning. Freeman was serving a 7-year sentence for burglary, resisting arrest, and stealing a motor vehicle in St. Louis County. Freeman had been at the prison since September 2021. Yesterday morning at approximately 05:00 a.m. Howell County Deputy First Class Robert Malone responded to a report of suspicious activity near the Dollar General in Caulfield, MO. The report came from a concerned citizen, who observed a small black car with a male and female acting suspiciously before driving across the road to the 101 Saddle Club Arena. Deputy Malone arrived at 05:17 hours and located the vehicle, unoccupied, near the concession stand.

Hardy Mayor Ethan Barnes announced yesterday that the City has terminated Police Chief Scott Rose after his recent arrest for alleged sexual assault. The mayor said that to ensure a smooth transition, the City has appointed Patrolman Michael Himshoot as Police Chief. Rose was arrested on Monday and charged with sexual indecency with a minor, sexual assault, knowingly furnishing alcohol to a minor, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

47-year-old Scott Rose was questioned on Monday and detained. Rose was wanted on a bench warrant from Sharp County. Rose was taken to the Sharp County Detention Center. Sheriff Shane Russell issued a press release announcing Rose’s arrest following a multi-agency investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.
