Dr Robert Nkuna, Director General in the Presidency, other dignitaries and invited guests attended the event. Mervyn Naidoo, the company’s CEO, said that the event was both a celebration and a milestone. The company we know as ACTOM began life in 1903 as the British General Electric Company (GEC). It manufactured electrical machinery and equipment in Cape Town.
