    On Monday morning, Jason Waddell, 46, of Yankton was sentenced to one year in prison charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest and Child Abuse. Waddell will serve those sentences consecutively to a 5 to 7 year prison term he received last week in Wayne County. The sentence come as a result of an incident last September 20th on Hwy 275 west of Pilger.

    At just before 9 p.m. on Monday, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified of a vehicle crash on 560th Ave. north of 845th Rd. near the Peace Church. According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, the driver, Jade Hostetler, age 21 of Wayne, was found to have driven his pickup through a “Bridge Closed” sign and into a deep creek bed on a minimum maintenance road. Hostetler declined medical attention at the scene.
