Berkshire County locals set to line up in Hopkinton at 129th Boston Marathon; May Day Races return

At least two names familiar to Berkshire County will be lining up in the first corral and first wave of runners on Monday at the start line of the 129th Boston Marathon. Both Dalton's Alex White and Boston's Ted Yee, a Lenox graduate, have earned entry alongside some of the top runners in the field. Yee, 22, a standout runner for the Millionaires who graduated in 2021, was the top local finisher in Boston last year. He finished in 2 hours, 37 minutes, 31 seconds, good for 308th place overall.

PITTSFIELD — By the time Timeless Training settled in and the 3-pointers started falling, the top seed was, ironically, out of time. Defending champion Joeys blitzed Timeless out of the gates, building a substantial lead before going on to repeat in the Berkshire Family YMCA Adult Basketball League's Tier 1 Division with a 62-52 victory.

PITTSFIELD — As the Hoopaholics tired late in Sunday morning's championship game, Naseem Barnhill and the PhoneBros Androids looked as easy as... well, Sunday morning. Barnhill connected on three 3-pointers late in the second half as the Androids buried Hoopaholics on a closing run to close out a 62-50 victory in the Berkshire Family YMCA Adult Basketball Tier 2 Championship.

DALTON — A year ago, the Wahconah girls lacrosse team was in the midst of what became 15 consecutive losses to start the season. That was then. This — a commanding 14-5 victory Wednesday night against Lee — is now. The Warriors led 7-0 after one quarter. Then Danielle Hagmaier and Brooke Thomas scored the first two goals of the second quarter, before the visiting Wildcats finally got on the board.
