The most personal of stories often resonate universally. Individual experiences sometimes end up relatable to the most widespread audiences imaginable. We’ve all seen this, reading memoirs or watching biopics that somehow feel like they’re speaking to us directly. I am not some relationship coach or date doctor à la Will Smith in Hitch (although I did write the love-sex column "Common Sensual" for this very magazine once upon a time). But I have been in love a few times.
