Change is a difficult thing for us to process as human beings. It can remove layers that we cherish and that connection can take time to reestablish. And what if it can’t be reestablished? The winds of change have been blowing through the automotive industry with great gusto in recent years. The requirements for added safety features and technology have added size, weight and interference. The requirements for reduced emissions have added size, weight and unwanted sources of power.

The rugged off roader has seen something of a renaissance in recent times. When I was growing up, these were reserved for people who seemed to be mad, or farmers. Why on earth would you want a big, boxy, uncomfortable car that’s designed to survive in the wilderness for the school run?

If the looks don’t get you, the experience will. It’s as if the engineers at Audi, given the freedom of a last hurrah and a substantial budget befitting of a departing legend, gave one final flex to send the RS6 out as king of the fast estates. Others have cropped up in recent times; pretenders to the throne? With the Audi RS6 GT, the team at Ingolstadt can at least sit back safe in the knowledge that they did all they could.

Bam. The gearbox instantly drops into second and the revs shoot up in anticipation of the corner. Minimal movement of the wrists is required to thread the Corvette Z06 through the relatively tight right hander. The difficult second album is a common occurrence in the music world. A hugely successful first album makes itself a hard act to follow. Do you try and repeat what made the first so popular, add something new, or even head in a new direction? It was undoubtedly a challenge for the Gazoo Racing (GR) department at Toyota. The first-generation Toyota GR Yaris was received to universal acclaim.

Long been done with Aaronson. He's nowhere near good enough. Runs a lot, but zero technical ability. Absolutely none. He's not really a footballer, just someone who can run. Not good enough for the Championship, let alone the Prem.
