She ran and she ran and she ran. And she won. Boy oh boy did she win. Chloe Huyler, a graduated senior from Lakeridge High School, ran like no Pacer before her and won like no Pacer before her. As a senior, she became the first state cross country champion in Lakeridge history, she won her second straight state crown in the 3,000 meters and she claimed her first 6A championship in the 1,500. Oh yeah – she also set big-school state meet records in each of those wins.

The Wildcats battled to a Northwest Oregon Conference championship, took the top seed into Class 5A state playoffs, won their first 29 games of the season and eventually played their way into the 2025 state semifinals.

The Cougars battled to a second-place finish in the tough-as-nails Northwest Oregon Conference, took the third seed into Class 5A state playoffs and eventually played their way into the 2025 championship game.

Published 11:15 pm Tuesday, June 17, 2025 It’s time to honor the best. And many of the best in Three Rivers League softball came from West Linn, Lake Oswego and Lakeridge in 2025. The Lions landed four players on the all-league first team and grabbed two of the league’s top honors, with senior third baseman McKayla Castro named Player of the Year and Gina Garvey named Coach of the Year.

The Lions did what they do. They won. They won often. They won the Three Rivers League and they were honored big-time in response. In the end, the West Linn baseball team saw seven players named to the all-Three Rivers League first team and grabbed three of the TRL’s biggest awards for 2025, with senior center fielder Danny Wideman named Player of the Year, senior left-hander Carson Boyer named Pitcher of the Year and Joe Monahan named Coach of the Year.
