London’s Rules hasn’t had cider on its menu for two decades. “Twenty years ago we introduced a cider that was produced and sold in a Champagne-style bottle,” Ricky McMenemy, the owner, explains. “So we treated it as if it was Champagne – we got it completely wrong.”McMenemy steered clear of the fermented apple drink until he was introduced to Showerings Cider. “I liked the quality of the product, but also the provenance,” McMenemy says.
