King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has launched a walking aids return scheme. This initiative will benefit the environment by reducing waste and carbon emissions while also generating cost savings and improving patient access to walking aids. The returned walking aids will be processed by the Bed and Equipment Team at the King’s College Hospital site, where equipment will be inspected, cleaned, and repaired before being provided to another patient.

WheelPower, a national charity for wheelchair sport, has a useful short online course designed to help teachers, coaches, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to adapt their sport and physical activity sessions to suit wheelchair users. The ‘Engaging wheelchair participants in sport’ course aims to enable learners to develop confidence in working with and supporting physically disabled people to enjoy, participate, and access sport, activity, and movement opportunities.
