    As we are in the heart of the Christmas season. Here’s some reasons why Christmas is my favourite season. There’re parties aplenty. I can finally rock my ugly Christmas sweater. I get to spend time with. family and friends. Shopping, eating, drinking and more. Everyone is in a great mood, and I can enjoy my own yearly traditions such as my 18th Annual Christmas Day Radio Show titled “Island Riddims”. Island Riddims Christmas show will be live at the Radio stations CKUT 90.3FM.

    Unfortunately summer is over, but here’s a recap of recent summer events. Vybz Kartel is finally free and planning a concert, Skinny Fabulous wins 4 Caribbean Music Awards and Montreal artist Miss Diva is doing big things in Canada. Vybz Kartel born Adidja Azim Palmer and his co-accused were freed on Jul 31,, 2024. After 13 years behind bars, the decision was made by a three-judge panel, including Justices Marva McDonald-Bishop, Paulette Williams and David Fraser.

    The 57th annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival, formerly known as Caribana is a celebration of all things Caribbean. It was full of music, cuisine, events and revelry that brings the city to life. The Grand Parade started at Exhibition Place and Lakeshore Blvd. and moved west along Lakeshore Blvd. Once it hit Lakeshore and Parkside Dr, the parade looped around and went back the same way it came.

    Now that Montreal’s 2024 Carimas is over, on to the next one! See you on the weekend of July 19th at Ottawa’s Carivibe. Before that, a quick review of Carimas. Every Carnival starts somewhere, and we should help make Carimas embrace its journey. This yearmarked our 50th year of Caribbean carnival in our city, thanks to Montreal CARIMAS team The Caribbean Coalition Network of Montreal, (CCNM).
