The suspect, a Columbia County teen, was arrested the same day. The teen is being tried in Columbia County Circuit Court.

The first class of freshmen who joined the district’s Ninth Grade Student Success Team at its start in 2022 is set to graduate next school year, giving the district more insight into how the team’s efforts are having on its overall graduation goals. “It’ll be really exciting to see,” Kelso School District Superintendent Mary Beth Tack said.
