Luigi Mangione was charged with murder in New York for the fatal shooting of UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s insurance chief Brian Thompson on a midtown Manhattan sidewalk, according to the New York State court system’s website. The charges come a few hours after Mangione, a 26-year-old Maryland native, was apprehended in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and held on gun charges when he was recognized at a McDonald’s from photos circulated in a dayslong nationwide manhunt.
