ARMADA — The recycled truck, tractor, and combine tires will be used for tire-derived aggregate, fuel, and rubber mulch. It will also keep landfills clear of tires, clean the environment, and maintain a circular economy, said Zachariah Devon, sales manager for the Detroit-based BSG Tire Recycling LLC, which offers a range of services for tire shops and dealerships in his tri-county area, including scrap-tire collection and fully equipped processing.

Elissa Slotkin wants you to buy American produce and food, especially considering the U.S. had a record agriculture trade deficit in 2024 and another one predicted by USDA for 2025. In front of almost 100 Michigan farmers in Washington, D.C., during MFB’s Washington Legislative Seminar, Slotkin promised to be pro-farmer, pro-food, and that she would push back at her political counterparts about what’s important to farming.

Josh Scramlin, whose family has been farming in Oakland County since 1910, began work March 31 as Michigan Farm Bureau’s new associate legislative counsel. Scramlin comes to MFB after almost four years with the National Pork Producers Council. There he served as the commodity organization’s regional director of producer services, helping pork producers in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.
