KATHMANDU, Aug 29: In Saptari, 10 people, including a former Deputy Inspector General of police and a current sub-inspector of police, have been arrested on suspicion of killing a wild boar.
The District Police Office in Saptari has detained them on the charge of killing a wild boar in the Koshi Palar area of Bharadaha Yogi Nayak, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-1.

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The four-day Chhath festival, dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, concluded on Friday morning with offerings made to the rising sun. Devotees stayed awake all night along the banks of rivers, ponds and lakes including Raghunathpur Pond in Lahan and various other locations across the Madhesh region to conclude Chhath and worship the rising Sun God. After offering ‘arghya’ to the setting sun yesterday, devotees worshiped the rising sun today.

JANAKPURDHAM, July 10: In the corruption case of Jhalanath Khanal Institute of Health Sciences, the Special Court has sentenced Bjjay Kumar Yadav, the former Finance Minister of Madhesh Province, to nine years and one month in prison.
The court found Yadav guilty in the graft case and ordered the recovery of Rs 23.53 million.

JANAKPURDHAM, Feb 24: Foreign Minister NP Saud, who is in New Delhi to participate in the Raisina Dialogue, is visiting Ram Temple in Ayodhya to offer five types of ornaments.
Foreign Minister Saud is scheduled to reach Ayodhya in a special flight from Delhi at 11 AM today. There is a program to welcome him at the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya by the ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government.
From the airport, he will reach Lord Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

LAHAN, Feb 13: The District Administration Office, Mahottari (DAO) has stopped illegal exploitation of the Khutti River within Chure Protected Area in Lahan Municipality-15.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Basudev Dahal stopped the illegal exploitation of Khutti River after being transferred to the district. The decision to halt the illegal excavation has caused panic among officials of Lahan Municipality, District Coordination Committee (DCC), and Division Forest Office.
