    According to police, the two men were abducted on the premises of a car rental company by suspects driving a silver or grey Hyundai i10. "The criminals forced the victims into their vehicle and transported them to a secluded bushy area along the R21 highway", said national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe. "There, the businessmen were reportedly coerced into handing over their bank cards and PINs, which the kidnappers used to withdraw large sums of money.

    The City of Tshwane restored power to the last of the residents in the early hours of Tuesday morning. "I'm pleased to report that 95% of the areas had been restored by 1 am. The team continues with the work. Despite being on site for over a week, the team has finished strong and in good spirits. We regret and apologise that residents were inconvenienced and left without power for so long," said Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya, who were at the substation early on Tuesday morning.
