Mogadishu, Somalia - Mukhtar Abdiwhab Ahmed sits in a plastic chair outside his house in Mogadishu. Nearby, children play, soldiers congregate, and rickshaws speed by under the scorching sun. "If I knew I would end up here [in Somalia] I would have never gotten these tattoos," the 39-year-old tells Al Jazeera, saying he has taken to mostly wearing long sleeves to avoid the negative comments and "dirty looks" he gets from people in the city.

Powerful Piece: The story of a #Somali family in #Sweden fighting to save their son after he joined #ISIS in #Syria, only to be betrayed by the ones they thought they could trust — The #Swedish government. https://t.co/TfjPHHUYSh

Co-produced this program for the #BBC World Service, #Africa Daily program on the only Art School in #Somalia and how it paves the way for a new generation of #Somali painters despite the stigma and in some cases threats that they might face for their work.https://t.co/u0m13gCsiL

Great to have worked on this story with @Priya_Nicole for the @bbcworldservice which was translated into multiple languages, for the #BBC Foreign Language Service, including #Somali #African migrants risk it all to reach #Yemen, including their lives. 👇 https://t.co/8FBuxUUpYR
