There’s been a lot said about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a lot more is going to be said in the future (it’s just that good). What I’m about to say hasn’t happened to me with any game in recent memory (maybe Persona 5, but nothing beyond that). The moment that French JRPG dropped, I started getting phone calls—a lot of them. Friends I hadn’t heard from in years, acquaintances I didn’t even know owned consoles, and people who are married and barely have time to breathe, let alone game.
