    The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) said 62 inmates in Kano, North-west Nigeria, have completed their O’Level programme. The inmates participated in the NCoS Continuing Education Programme, culminating in their sitting the National Examination Council (NECO) and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examinations. On Friday, the NCoS organised a graduation ceremony for the 62 inmates who completed the programme.

    The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a Nigerian returning from Malaysia with methamphetamine concealed in loudspeakers, the agency said in a statement. The statement by the spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, was shared on the agency’s X timeline on Saturday. Mr Babafemi said that the Malreturnee, Ndubuisi Udatu, also known as Richard, was intercepted at a checkpoint in Namtari, along the Ngurore-Yola Road in Adamawa State, North-west Nigeria.

    The National Industrial Court in Makurdi, Benue State, has ordered the state government to pay more than N6.8 million as death benefits to the widow of a deceased official of the state. Judge Isaac Essien ordered the payment of death benefits, which had been due since May 2017, to the widow of Linus Otigbo, according to the synopsis of the judgement shared on the court’s website on Tuesday.

Abdel-Fatau Musah, the ECOWAS commissioner for political affairs, peace, and security, said this during a training on financial investigation for anti-corruption institutions across its member-states.
