Everyone seems to be talking about boundaries these days. Therapists, psychiatrists, friends, memes on Instagram — all praising establishing, protecting and respecting boundaries. As a parent of a young, vivacious and stubborn 3 year-old, I think about boundaries a lot in the context of parenting.

I look at my 3 year old daughter, for instance — she, and most other young children, epitomize this concept that ironically, later in life, they will probably spend years trying to rediscover: the (not so) simple art of living in the moment. Being still, in the present moment, means truly absorbing all the information your senses are giving you, and being present with your thoughts.

This perspective is contrasted by 50% who feel that the current training length is appropriate, and 16% who would like longer training periods. Reducing the length of medical training could potentially address issues such as student-loan debt and clinician shortages.
