Availability: After4/15Price: $3.99 for a 4-packWhy I Love It: JELL-O pudding cups were childhood favorite special treats. This new dairy-free oat milk version promises to deliver the same nostalgic flavor, but I feel good serving to my kids (or eating it myself). I was a brown bag lunch kid though and through. Simply Recipes / Cindy Rahe Key TakeawaysA little ricotta cheese makes boxed cake tender and moist, even days later. This trick works for any kind of boxed cake mix, like vanilla, chocolate, or funfetti. To use, just mix a half cup of ricotta in with the wet ingredients, then bake and mix as directed. My birthday is on July 3. I always thought the Fourth of July fireworks were just for me.

Simply Recipes / Getty Images I was lucky to inherit an amazing recipe collection from my grandmother. Some recipes are in her own handwriting; some are from her friends, written on the back of postcards. Many are clippings from The Boston Globe food section, and some are in a few of her very favorite cookbooks. One such book is the classic, The French Chef Cookbook by culinary icon Julia Child. My grandmother was an excellent, albeit simple cook.
