Allie Cuva has done it all — and has even more to try. The Detroit-born, Nashville-educated, New York-based multi-hyphenate, who self-describes as a “songwriter, producer, mix engineer and multi-instrumentalist performer,” first set out on her own in 2020 with her project allie. This past Tuesday (August 27), she shared “Every Dog,” the latest single from her upcoming album of the same name due September 27.

Berklee-educated Jordan Maye is helping keep Boston rock alive and well, from both near and afar. The student, musician (whose single “Hush” we shared earlier this year), and Atlanta native shared her debut full-length record, Creation of Jordan Maye, on Friday (August 23), an eight-song hero’s-journey-style musical feat she’s achieved at just the age of 21. Maye’s album is as personal as it is technically deft.

If Beckett originated the absurdity of holding out hope, Anya Marina is here to put it to song. The New York musician shared her latest single “Waiting For a Difference” yesterday (August 22), and while we’ll have to wait to hear the rest of the accompanying album Asteroid — that’s coming October 25 via Good Rope Records — there’s plenty to dive into with the track and accompanying music video.

Now, she’s preparing to bring her repertoire — and reputation as an outspoken social and environmental activist — to Tanglewood, where she performs on Aug. 30.
