Stocks were headed for mild losses on Tuesday as investors shied away from making any major moves ahead of a second day of trade talks between China and the U.S.Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average were down 1 point, effectively trading flat. S&P 500 futures were also flat, while contracts tied to the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 fell 0.1%. The three gauges barely moved on Monday, with the market very much in wait-and-see mode as officials from Beijing and Washington met in London.
