Share EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville man is facing charges after officials say he led them on a chase Monday night. According to a press release, Indiana State Police troopers attempted to pull over 31-year-old Kevin Moman when they saw him driving near Covert Avenue without a seat belt. Troopers say as they were approaching Moman’s vehicle he sped off. A release shows Moman crashed into a ditch on Elmendorf Avenue and then began running on foot.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Emergency crews were called to a fire on Broadway Avenue. It broke out late Thursday morning. Several agencies were called to the fire. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says it was in the 6100 block of Broadway Avenue. The fire was down a lane that was only accessible to emergency crews at the time. We’ll keep you updated. EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE/Gray News) - An Indiana man charged in a child neglect case after his 6-month-old son was found with more than 50 rat bites on his body has been sentenced. Court records show David Schonabaum was sentenced to 16 years in prison. He was found guilty last month after less than two hours of jury deliberation. The rat bites will permanently disfigure the boy, authorities said The judge heard impact statements and also denied Schonabaum’s request to attend a funeral.

ShareEVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District is hosting a Spooky Wine Walk this week. The event will kick off Friday, October 4 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Organizers say registration will take place at 425 Main Street. Wines poured during the event will be from Oliver Winery, and will be poured outside on Main Street. According to a release, attendees can carry their wine into their favorite shops.

ShareEVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison on child sexual abuse charges. According to a release, that man is 41-year-old Christopher Vickers. Officials say Vickers pled guilty to one count of possession and three counts of receipt of child sexual abuse material. Court records show on July 17, 2023, investigators were alerted to a social media account being used to upload, store, and share child sexual abuse material.
