Officials say scammers are posing as representatives from the sheriff’s office, claiming you have an outstanding warrant. The scammer then demands payment in bitcoin or threatens arrest. The sheriff’s office wants to remind you they will never ask for money over the phone, or ask for payment in cryptocurrency.

    OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The former Owensboro Public Schools Superintendent has been charged with numerous offenses related to sexually exploiting children. Officials say on August 14, a grand jury returned an indictment charging 52-year-old Matthew Constant with the following:Two counts of online enticement of a minorThree counts of receipt of child pornographyTwo counts of sexual exploitation of a minorTwo counts of transferring obscene material to a minor.

    OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced an emergency closure on West Parrish Avenue (KY 81). According to a release, that closure will take place between Nassau Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue. Officials say the closure is expected to last around two to three days. The Regional Water Resource Agency says they will be conducting sewer repairs at the location until Thursday or Friday, depending on the weather.
