The New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) recently published revised proposed amendments (the Revised Proposed Amendments) to the state's cybersecurity regulation for the financial services industry (23 NYCRR Part 500). The Revised Proposed Amendments would significantly clarify and expand the compliance obligations of NYDFS-regulated financial institutions (covered entities1), reflecting comments received on the prior version we discussed in an earlier advisory.
