Should a waiter’s behavior affect their tips? According to most sources, a 15–20% tip is the standard when dining at a restaurant in the United States. However, some people believe that this tip should be given regardless of a waiter’s behavior and performance. And if your waiter was extraordinary, they should be tipped more but never less regardless of their performance. I have a very strong opinion on this, but before I influence you all with it, I’d love to know where you stand.
