At 9:48 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, all runners gathered on the playground to hear what was expected of them as participants and they were reminded that this was a fun event so they should enjoy themselves with the other runners. Then some leg stretches, and cardio were performed followed by instructions for the 5K runners who were to go straight out Camels Hump Road for 2.5K and then turning around there at the water station and return to the school.

For the past four years, Superior Elementary School has participated in National Small Business Week, held this year from May 4–10, with a student-led service-learning project. Each year, students choose a unique way to express their appreciation to the community, and this year’s effort may be their most impressive yet.

The Superior High School music program has swelled in size and achievements since music teacher Debbie Merrill took over a few years ago. She had 13 kids make it to the state festival in Great Falls last weekend.
