The Calgary Flames' win on Jan. 18 in Winnipeg was against the best team in the entire Western Conference. The Jets had been 18-4-3 at home and 31-12-3 overall until Wolf and the Flames beat them. Wolf is now No. 6 in the NHL in Save Percentage and No. 10 in the NHL in Goals Against Average.

Gilroy native Dustin Wolf, whose family lived in Morgan Hill during his early years and whose extended family includes many Live Oak alumni, has starred in the American Hockey League and competed in 18 games for the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames. Wolf has twice been named AHL goalie of the year and also received the AHL MVP award for 2023.

As a young boy, Gilroy native Dustin Wolf went to San Jose Sharks games with his parents. On April 9, Wolf started an NHL game at goalie in the same building for the first time. Playing for the Calgary Flames, Wolf backstopped his team to a 3-2 overtime win against the Sharks at the SAP Center in San Jose. Wolf's parents were Sharks season ticket holders back in the day and a young boy with NHL dreams envisioned being on the ice.

Gilroy native and professional ice hockey goalie Dustin Wolf was selected to his second straight American Hockey League All-Star team. All-star events took place in early February and were particularly special for Wolf as the host city was San Jose, with the Skills Competition and All-Star Challenge games at the TechCU Arena, just south of downtown. Wolf, in the Calgary Flames NHL organization, has been named “Goalie of the Year” in the AHL, the NHL's minor league, the last two seasons.
