Six months have passed since the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) formally recommended the reclassification of cannabis under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA). Still, there is no word as to when or if the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will carry out the department's request and classify cannabis as a Schedule III substance.

The rising popularity of Dry January among younger Americans may benefit weed sales and the growing cannabis industry. During this year's month-long adult beverage abstinence trend, sales at three of the largest U.S. liquor chains hit a post-pandemic low. More specifically, alcohol sales fell by 52% in the first week of the year, the most on record. In lieu of alcohol consumption, 34% of adults between 21 and 24 years old and 24% of adults between 25 and 34 years old use CBD or cannabis products.

The proposed ballot measure, sponsored by the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, would allow adults over 21 years old to possess 2.5 ounces of cannabis and up to 15 grams of cannabis concentrates for recreational use.

Boy isn't this timeless. A true mental exercise of self preservation for those in legal cannabis. The takeaway is that we forge ahead without politicians, as the good ones have and continue to do, and they will eventually catch up.

Charlie Munger: "I consider it counterproductive to hate as much as both parties now hate. I have disciplined myself and I now regard all politicians higher than I used to. I did that as a matter of self-preservation." https://t.co/bhr057XSiO
