    A former top engineer for Keolis, which operates the MBTA’s commuter rail, has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for stealing $8.5 million meant to operate the commuter rail system. John P. Pigsley, 59, previously worked as Assistant Chief Engineer of Facilities for Keolis Commuter Services. He was sentenced in a Boston federal court Thursday to 70 months in prison, followed by three months of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Leah Foley.

    State police are investigating a five-car crash on Interstate 93 in Medford that killed a Revere man on Thursday night. Fredis Seravia-Corvera, 25, was pronounced dead after his Ford F-350 truck was struck and overturned on I-93 North near Exit 25 around 6:30 p.m, according to officials. On Friday, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said investigators are seeking information about a black Toyota Camry that may have been operating erratically before the crash.

    A UMass Boston student is facing federal charges after allegedly using Molotov cocktails to firebomb a Tesla dealership in Kansas City, Missouri, while home for spring break, federal officials announced Friday. Owen McIntire, 19, a resident of Kansas City, was arrested without incident Friday and appeared in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts later that day.
