We used the ‘qualification period’ method along with advanced statistical methods, such as inverse probability weighting, and doubly robust g-methods with ensemble machine learning algorithms, to mitigate the impact of the ‘healthy donor effect’. We found that regular high-frequency whole blood donation does not significantly alter the cancer risk.
