The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (task force) has warned the state residents against blocking streets for social events. The Chairman of the unit, CSP Adetayo Akerele, gave the warning on Tuesday in a statement signed by the agency’s spokesperson, Mr Gbadeyan Abdulraheem. Akerele said that all social events, including religious events, causing inconveniences to other residents and motorists would no longer be tolerated in the state.

The Police Command in Lagos State has detained a man for allegedly killing a taxi driver and escaping with his car. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Hundeyin said that the incident happened on Oct. 12. According to him, the suspect and his fleeing accomplice boarded a taxi to an undisclosed destination.
