An arrest warrant has been issued against former City Minister Tulip Siddiq by a court in Dhaka over corruption charges. The arrest warrant came after Bangladesh’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted a criminal charge sheet against the Labour MP last week. She is accused of pressuring her aunt Sheikh Hasina Wazed, the deposed prime minister of Bangladesh, to allocate three plots of land for the MP’s mother, elder brother and younger sister, all of whom are based in the UK.

Tulip Siddiq has accused the Bangladeshi authorities of a “targeted and baseless” campaign against her, insisting that all allegations of corruption are “false and vexatious”. Siddiq, who resigned from the UK government amid scrutiny over her links to her aunt, Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh’s deposed prime minister, questioned why the Bangladeshi government had briefed the media but had not put any allegations to her directly.

France acknowledges the loss of an Indian Rafale. According to the images circulating, which appear to be original, it may have been the first of 36 Rafale that entered service in the Indian air force. Next question is whether it was hit by a Chinese PL-15 missile. https://t.co/sLMljUDzht
