Hosting a charity concert, literary society and social fraternity Alpha Delta Phi transformed the second story of its brownstone into a concert venue on Friday night for an early kickoff to Bacchanal. CDs hung from a chandelier and the furniture was cleared out to make space for the crowd to dance to music played by local performers in a smoky room.

The exhibit is grounded in the namesake tradition of celestial navigation, the process of determining one’s position on land, sea, or space using the stars. The exhibit will be on display until May 26. Navigating using the skies and stars dates back to ancient times, making it a point of connection across generations. Rhyu sought to highlight this relationship by pairing these artifacts with modern works crafted on paper, including cyanotypes, paintings, and gelatin silver prints.
