In April, Spotify rival Deezer disclosed that more than 20,000 AI-generated tracks are being delivered to its platform alone every day – around double the 10,000 daily AI uploads Deezer reported in January.

Catalog management platform OpenPlay has teamed up with payouts platform Trolley. The partnership will see Trolley integrated into OpenPlay Reach, the recently launched service from OpenPlay that supports the delivery, distribution, management, and monetization of music and video assets. Trolley claims to process “billions in payments annually for over 5 million payees across 210 countries” and says that it works with major and independent labels, distributors, publishers, and streaming services.

HarbourView Equity Partners is leading an $85 million investment in Animaj, a kids and family content-focused entertainment company. Animaj uses proprietary GenAI production tools and what it calls a “multi-platform franchise-building model”. The Paris-headquartered company says that it “acquires and scales high-potential IPs by using data-driven insights, automating animation pipelines through AI,” and then distributing that content to platforms like YouTube, Roblox, TikTok, Spotify.

Create Music Group (CMG) has formed a new joint venture with Star Trak Entertainment, along with co-founder Rob Walker. Originally launched in 2001, Star Trak Entertainment was founded by Rob Walker and producer duo Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes. The joint venture marks the official relaunch of the imprint.
