DALLAS - In April, the Dallas Wings celebrated the arrival of No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers. Now, another top talent might be coming to Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA draft lottery on Monday and will presumably draft Duke star Cooper Flagg No. 1 overall next month. The Mavs had a 1.8% chance to win the lottery, but defied the odds and now have the opportunity to add the All-American forward to their roster next season. Copyright 2025 Tribune Content Agency.

DALLAS — When the Dallas Wings open their highly-anticipated regular season on Friday at UT Arlington’s College Park Center, the spotlight will be on Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick in last month’s WNBA draft. Dallas has high hopes for the former UConn star who won a national title in April before coming to North Texas. The rookie combined for 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the Wings’ two preseason games and is already one of the WNBA’s biggest stars.
