Another first-round pick has put pen to paper. The Buccaneers announced on Friday that receiver Emeka Egbuka has signed his contract ahead of the club’s rookie minicamp this weekend. Egbuka, 22, was the No. 19 overall pick of this year’s draft after spending four seasons at Ohio State. He won the CFP National Championship with the program in January. The Buccaneers will make a decision on Egbuka’s fifth-year option in the spring of 2028. Tampa Bay now has five of its six 2025 draftees under contract.

The Nick Chubb era in Cleveland appears to be over. The Browns signaled that when they selected two running backs in the 2025 draft and recently renegotiated Jerome Ford’s deal. But now General Manager Andrew Berry has also explicitly stated that Chubb’s return to the club doesn’t appear to be in the cards. “I wouldn’t rule anything out, but I would say it’s probably increasingly unlikely,” Berry said in a Friday interview with Ken Carman and Anthony Lima on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan.

With Desmond Ridder backing out of his tryout at Broncos rookie minicamp, the club is bringing in a quarterback who has been with head coach Sean Payton before. Per Mike Klis of 9News Denver, Ian Book will have a veteran tryout with the Broncos this weekend. Book, 27, was a Saints fourth-round pick in 2021 when Payton was still New Orleans’ head coach. He made the one start of his career as a rookie on a Monday night against Miami late in the year, with New Orleans falling 20-3.

For four seasons, Robert Saleh was the 49ers’ defensive coordinator under head coach Kyle Shanahan. After middling results from 2017-2018, Saleh coached a dominant unit in 2019 that helped San Francisco reach Super Bowl LIV. Now Saleh is back with the 49ers after a four-year stint as head coach of the Jets. He told reporters on Thursday that he had no interest in working for another team as DC. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for this organization,” Saleh said, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN.

Quinn Ewers is now in the fold. Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, Ewers has agreed to terms on his four-year rookie contract with the Dolphins ahead of the club’s rookie minicamp this weekend. Ewers, 22, was the final quarterback selected in this year’s draft at No. 231 overall in the seventh round. After spending his first collegiate season at Ohio State, Ewers transferred to Texas for the final three years of his collegiate career.
