"Lanterns" Casts Sinestro - The Blog of Oa

Posted on The HBO Max Lanterns show has found the actor to portray Sinestro in the upcoming show. 61-year-old Ulrich Thomsen has joined the show alongside previous announced cast mates Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, and Poorna Jagannathan. The Danish actor is known for his role in the 1998 film The Celebration and the series Banshee. I can see it now – season one’s title will be “The Geritol Corps War”…..
Green Lantern April 2025 Solicitations

DC Comics has released their solicitations for books being published in April of 2025 and including some collected editions coming out later on in the year. April marks the debut of the Absolute Green Lantern title. One item of particular note is the upcoming release of a Red Lanterns Omnibus in June.

The casting news for the upcoming Max Lanterns series has picked up steam in the past few weeks since Kyle Chandler (Hal Jordan) and Aaron Pierre (John Stewart) were both announced as the series’ lead roles. Here’s a breakdown of the latest news about the cast of characters joining Hal and John on the small screen. Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire) has accepted the role of Sheriff Kerry, a no-nonsense woman who is deeply devoted to her family and her close-knit town.

DC Comics has released the solicitation information for comics being published in February of 2025, including some collected editions being released later in the calendar year. The Fractured Spectrum saga explodes out of the Green Lantern series with such force that it will take two monthly books to contain it. That’s right, the Corps is back, baby! The return of a GLC title has been on our wish list (along with a new anthology series!) for some time now and it finally a reality.

DC Comics has released their solicitation information for comics releasing in January of 2025, plus some collected editions that won’t see the light of day for some time. Jeremy Adams is continuing his exploration of a fractured emotional spectrum with, quite literally, Fractal Lanterns. Jo Mullein appears in what appears to be a new DC Pride series and Carol Ferris continues her superhero experience in the new Justice League Unlimited series.

DC Comics has released the solicitation information for comics shipping in December of 2024 as well as some collected editions that are scattered throughout the first couple of months in 2025. There’s a lot of stuff coming out which looks great, and I haven’t included a few things like some Absolute Power and Forever Evil collected editions that are on their way.
The War of Light Comes to DC Super Heroes United

The CMON DC Super Heroes United board game campaign is in its final 48 hours, and during their livestream today CMON announced the final expansion for the game, The War of Light. The War of Light expansion adds Hal Jordan, Black Hand, Atrocitus, Larfleeze, Sinestro, Saint Walker, Indigo-1, Star Sapphire, and White Lantern Kyle Rayner to the game, along with a number of familiar henchmen (these have no miniatures).

DC Comics has released the solicitation information for books shipping in October of 2024 as well as some new “DC Finest” collected editions that will be released in the last quarter of the year. October sees the launch of the “DC All In” initiative and we get two Green Lantern books in the main universe this month as Jeremy Adams teams up with Phillip Kennedy for a special that sets things up for how the Green Lantern Corps will move forward in the new era.

Board Game company CMON have a new crowdfunding project going on, a DC version of their popular Marvel United game entitled DC Super Heroes United. As a part of the unfolding campaign CMON announced a Green Lantern Corps character pack as an optional add-on purchase for $30. The character pack includes John Stewart, Kilowog, Guy Gardner, Salaak, and Jessica Cruz. You will of course need the base game in order to use the Corps characters.

DC Comics has released solicitation information for comics releasing in September of 2024. The main ongoing title remains the sole Green Lantern related title with Phillip Kennedy Johnson seemingly returning to the book to provide a backup story bringing some of the plot threads from Green Lantern: War Journal into the series continuity. I’m also listing this month’s World’s Finest issue due to the Jessica Cruz variant cover.
