The massive manhunt for five of the 10 inmates who fled a New Orleans jail stretched into a sixth day on May 21, and the escape's investigation has now yielded three alleged accomplices. Louisiana State Police said Wednesday they have arrested two women, Cortnie Harris and Corvanntay Baptiste, for their roles in helping the inmates who broke free in the early morning of May 16. Harris and Baptiste join jail maintenance worker Sterling Williams, who was arrested Monday, as accused co-conspirators.

The city of New Orleans remained on edge for a fourth day on May 19 as the massive manhunt continued for seven inmates who fled a New Orleans jail by climbing through a hole behind a toilet. Hundreds of federal, state and local law enforcement officials were pursuing the escapees, who face a range of charges from aggravated assault and domestic abuse to murder. The youngest is 19, the oldest is 42. Three other inmates have been recaptured.

Four of 10 inmates who fled a New Orleans jail by climbing through a hole behind a toilet have been recaptured as the massive manhunt stretched into its fourth day, authorities said. The fourth escapee, identified as Gary Price, 21, was taken into custody on May 19 in New Orleans, Louisiana State Police said in a news release. Price will be transported to a secure state facility outside of the area, according to state police.
