3. Data and SpecificationThis study employs four inflation measures that are widely used in the inflation literature—headline consumer price index (CPI), PCE and core CPI, and PCE. The natural rate of unemployment was obtained from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO)’s measure. The CBO no longer officially reports the short-term measure of the natural rate of unemployment, but it has released the expected rates up to 2030.
